The
main trunk was made from a copper pipe which was later covered with
putty and textured. The branches consist of brass hollowed tubes
of various lengths and diameters. Every Walnut was first halfed,
emptied of its contents and glued again to resemble the original
shape before being given a touch of varnish. Most of the ornaments
inside the Walnuts were hand made. The leaves were all individually
made from brass liner and soldered to wire stems. Every Walnut has
a light bulb inside which is connected to a transformer and all
the electical wiring was passed through the trunk and eventually
through the branches so it would not be visible.
